Teresa Scagliotti
Teresa has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry and as a corporate cost analyst with Lockheed Martin. She began her career in the financial services industry in 1995, and after a year with New York Life as an agent and financial advisor, Teresa ventured out on her own to establish a private financial planning and insurance services practice. She is a Certified Financial Planner® and teaches prerequisite courses in the Personal Financial Planning Certificate program at UCSC-Extension, where she received her certification. Teresa feels that this is a wonderful way to give back to this budding profession and the incoming students whose passion for this profession equals her own. She tells her students "This is a wonderful profession that rewards you in your heart...".
Teresa is very active in her professional association, the Financial Planning Association, where she served as President of the Silicon Valley Chapter from 2004 to 2006 and Liaison Representative to the national level of the Financial Planning Association, which has over 30,000 members in more than 100 chapters across the United States.
A native of California, Teresa's personal interests vary from hiking, birding, wine tasting and knitting to spending time with her husband, Will and her son, Loryn, a senior a Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. When time permits, her love of adventure travel has taken her to the jungles in South America, the Galapegos Islands, sea kayaking with the Orca whales off Vancouver Island and her most recent adventure to Antartica and Iquasu Falls.
